September 2020 Summarized Healing Service Message

Preacher: Pastor Isaac V. Olori
Lesson: Jonah 3:1-3.

Topic:  God of Another Chance

The month of September is the Ministry’s anniversary emphasis month. We shall use the period to reflect and recast our vision, as we seek God’s face for the next level. The anniversary, in essence, means another chance being given by God for us to make a mark. As individuals, every new day presents us with a second chance to fulfill God’s purpose for our lives.

In the last Healing Service, we looked at the book of Jonah chapters 1 and 2. Today, we shall focus on chapter 3, and on the topic, “God of Another Chance”.

Moving from where you are presently to where you are meant to be, offers an opportunity for a second chance to some of us; for others, it could be their third chance; and yet to others, it could mean their 4th or 5th or more chances depending on their circumstances. Proverbs 24:16 shows that even if you’ve fallen several times, you can rise as much. There is always a chance to pick up from where you might have missed it. God is a God of another chance. Every morning proverbs a new chapter for your life story to be rewritten; for you to move from where you are to where you ought to be, is by God’s of unfailing mercies (Lamentation 3:21-23).

In Jonah chapter 3, the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the second time. This implies that there was a first time and now was the second time that the word of the Lord came onto him. One thing about God is that, He is the God of the now. God’s interest is in the now. His interest is what He is doing with you now. Many of us literarily live our lives in the past. Our relationship with God must be in the now. The word of God should be a ‘now’ thing for you, and not a stale one.

“The word of the Lord came to Jonah”, means that the word was addressed specifically to Jonah. It was not a generic word. The word of God comes in two ways: as Logos or as Rhema. The logos is the written word, while the rhema is the ‘instant personal speaking word’ of God. When the word of the Lord comes to you, it will perform the reason for which it was sent. In the process of studying the logos, the rhema can come to you as well. From the Bible accounts, there are very few persons that had the privilege of hearing God audibly as He speaks to them; Jonah was one of such. Jonah’s case is similar to what God told us as a Ministry. The vision God gave to our founding father (Apostle G. D. Numbere).

For Jonah, God asked him to go to Nineveh and preach to them. Nineveh represents: the Gentiles (those who have not received the gospel). Jonah’s commission is similar to “The Great Commission” (Matthew 28:18-20), which is the same mandate we have as a Ministry. Hence, God has given us a second chance this year as a Ministry, to go and raise-up to Him the faces of men. The same ‘go’ God told us 48years ago is the same ‘go’ He is telling us now as a Ministry. It thus implies that, we are given another chance like Jonah.

Jonah utilized his second chance opportunity. H arose and went to Nineveh, and did attempt to run away like he did the first time. The result of his message was amazing. There was great repentance in Nineveh. Jonah’s obedience changed a whole society and a whole nation was spared. Jonah’s second chance became Nineveh’s second chance. A number of people’s second chance is tied to your obedience to a second chance!

Other examples of biblical second chances:

[1] Moses in Exodus chapter 2; Israel has been in captivity for about 400years and God raised Moses as a deliverer. First, Moses was delivered from dying. Then he tried to prove that he was to be Israel’s deliverer; that was like taking responsibilities by himself without being divinely commissioned. He wanted to execute God’s mandate in the flesh. Moses ran away when he was hunted for murdering an Egyptian and was in exile for 40 years. The God of another chance met him at Mount of Horeb. After his encounter with God, he was given a second chance to deliver the Israelites from over 400 years of captivity.

[2] Samson in Judges chapter 16; Samson was conceived by an angelic message. He had a unique anointing that translated into physical strength. At one time, he used the jaw bone of an ass to destroy the Philistines. Along the line, Samson had problem with women and squandered his destiny because of immorality. He squandered the calling of God upon his life. There is nothing that can easily squander or destroy the destiny and calling of God on a man than immorality! Immorality shaved the hair of Samson and blinded his eyes. Although he was used as an object of caricature, he revenged his enemies with a greater slaughter because of second chance. I don’t know what the enemy has been celebrating in your life, your hair will grow again. The growth of Sampson’s hair in Judges 16:22 signified an evidence of a second chance. God in His wisdom did put His anointing on the hair of Samson, because He knew that his hair would grow again after it was shaved. The enemy may succeed in cutting your hair, but cannot stop it from growing. At any point in time, it is only you that can stop your hair from growing!

[3] The woman caught in adultery in John 8:1-11; The woman was to be stoned to death. As long as that she was concerned, her life had ended! But her accusers made the greatest mistake of their lives by taken her to Jesus. Anything that brings you to Jesus, affords you a second chance. Jesus will not condemn you. Jesus can give you a second chance like he did to the woman. This woman’s story was like that of Rahab- the harlot in Joshua chapter 2; her encounter with the Hebrew’s God meant a second chance for her. She was recorded in the on heroic list in Hebrews. Although, the identity ‘harlot’ was always associated with her name, but that merely revealed the grace of God in her life.

[4] The man at the pool of Bethsaida in John chapter 5; The man was impotent for 38 years. The man had no hope of ever been healed as he often missed out of all the opportunities available for his healing. He missed out of all the stirrings of the water by the angel. There are people in the church today that is missing out of all the stirrings of the Spirit. Even when Jesus came to him, he complained that he had no man to help him. Those who live in complaining, won’t be able to take advantage of a second chance. The man had a fixed mentality of how the healing should come, despite having the Master of healing talked to him. God does not work with formula. When you come to God, ensure that you come with an open mind to capture every opportunity. Because of God of another chance, the man eventually took up his bed and left healed.

In the case of Lazarus, he died, buried and had his tomb covered with a great stone. But Jesus gave him a second chance to live.

The wife of one of the late sons of the Prophets in 2 Kings chapter 4, had a second chance by reason of her encounter with Elisha. She afterwards paid all inherited debt, and lived in surplus with her children.

Second chance begins in the spirit. Salvation is the work of a second chance (Romans 3:23; 1 Cor. 15:22.) If you are not born again, you have an opportunity of another chance again today to surrender your life to Jesus. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done, God is giving you a second chance today to give your life to Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour. That is the right way to begin!

Topic:  The More Abundant Life

INTRODUCTION

There are several categories of lives, but for this message, God will be speaking to us on “the more abundant life”.

Looking at John 10, Jesus was introduced to us as the good shepherd, and in verse 10, there was a sharp contrast explaining Jesus’ mission on earth, from that of the devil. In that verse, the thief represents the devil who is the chief thief and his disciples who are other false teachers.

The devil is on a threefold mission; to steal, to kill and to destroy. That is his assignment on earth.

The devil came to steal, kill and destroy people’s health, joy, family, peace and their lives as a whole. He has also blinded them to think that they are enjoying themselves in this world. Unfortunately, this assignment of the devil has crept into the church as even Christians are distracted from the main focus and purpose for which God has called them.

A good example of how the thief works can be seen in 2 Samuel 15:1-6. In this passage, we can see that Absalom took out time to prepare for a mission which was to take over the throne of his father. He decided to steal the heart of the children of Israel from David his father. This is the same way the devil comes. The devil will not tell you his mission, but he will come subtly, working behind the scene to steal from the children of God. This is also how the love, commitment and dedication of some people towards God have been stolen by the devil.

The times that we are in is a period where the devil is seriously manipulating people’s heart into committing and living in sin. That is why Jesus stepped into the scene to destroy the works of the devil – 1 John 3:8.

The good news is that the mission of the devil cannot overpower the saving power of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the solution to everything we face. Our part is to receive by faith. That is how our miracle comes.

GRADES OF LIFE

There are three grades of life:

i. No life

ii. Life

iii. The abundant life

Considering our topic for today, the abundant life means an overflowing life. A life you are not struggling to live. It overflows and when it does, it touches people and situation.

The abundant life is a rich and satisfied life. It is a life that is thick, robust and fully grown.

Jesus Christ is the giver of the abundant life. He gives us this life so that we will not struggle with life but have it to the overflow. This life is beyond carnal provisions and considerations. This life Jesus gives is assured of God’s provision. It is called Zoe, and it means God’s kind of life.

1 John 5:11-12 emphasizes the means of accessing this life, also called eternal life. This life is packaged in God’s son, Jesus Christ and we must yearn to access this life. You can only access this life when you believe and receive Jesus into your life – John 3:36.

When this superior life comes, sicknesses, death and demons disappear.

Eph. 4:18 states that every unbeliever is alienated from the life of God. Some believers are also alienated when, firstly, they have their understanding darkened. Secondly, when they live in ignorance, and thirdly, when their hearts are blinded. The devil will do everything to darken your understanding so that you don’t enjoy this overflowing life that Christ has freely given to us.

In John 6:35, Jesus presents Himself as the bread of life that quenches hunger and thirst. There is also a call to us in Isaiah 55:1-2 to come and partake of this eternal life. Searching and seeking for satisfaction by yourself in this world is futile. It has left so many in frustration, even to the point of committing suicide. The good news is that the price for the God kind of life has been paid for, and the price is Jesus Christ.

We must endeavor to fatten our spirit always through the word of God. Unfortunately, some of us are malnourished spiritually. The spirit is the supernatural essence and the activator of life. When spirit goes, life goes.

The rhema of the word when received, transforms into spirit and life. The inner life controlled by the spirit is different from the outer life, the bio.

THE FEATURES OF THE ZOE LIFE; THE ETERNAL LIFE.

1. It is a liberated life. John 8:13. The greatest liberation is the liberation of the inner mind and the spirit. This life liberates you from ignorance, the power of the devil and the power of sin.

2. Romans 5:5 makes us to understand that this life is a loving life. This love does not fear, rather, it casts away fear.

3. It is a lifting life; it lifts from sickness, sin and death.

CONCLUSION

The God kind of life is an eternal life. It is beyond this earthly life. For the believer, whether we live or die, we lose nothing. We experience more of the abundant life even in death. That is when we enter into the fullness of that life.

Today, choose to enter into the fullness of that life. Jesus is waiting for you.

Even in unfavorable situations, God can do more than we think of. Eph. 3:20. Believe in Him for miracles. God can do more than your problems. He is waiting for you.

Topic:  Grace For Dominion

I want to talk about Grace for Dominion. I declare to you that healing is the children’s bread. If you are a child of God, grace shall be released upon you today, and you will have dominion over every situation in your life.

Part of God’s purpose for our being created is to have dominion. Genesis 1:26 shows a dominion mandate for all, over all the earth, with no exemption. Despite that Adam lost it, Noah walked in the path of God and was righteous in his generation, and God restored back the lost dominion (Genesis 9:2). God reinforced the dominion mandate to Noah because he was righteous in his generation (Genesis 7:1). If we determine to be righteous in our generation, the grace and power for dominion will be released on us as individuals.
Spiritual dominion supersedes every spheres of dominion. It is possible for you to live in dominion and victory. Dominion means: to rule over; to be in charge of; to exercise authority over; to overcome or subdue. It implies the manifestation of God’s power and grace.

SECRETS INTO THE GRACE FOR DOMINION
(1) To walk in dominion you must appreciate the greatness of God (Psalm 8:3-4). When you understand how great God is; the vast universe and massive creations- the stars, moon, the earth, the sun, the galaxies, etc., you would discover that your dominion can flow from God to you. On your own you cannot have dominion; it only when you look up to God who made man in His own image and likeness.

Thus, one of the secrets of dominion is to know the God you serve. God decided to give dominion to an insignificant and transitory man. Dominion is not about how significant you are, but it’s about what God has made of you. Dominion is therefore about grace because God is mindful of you. His thoughts for you are thoughts of good and not of evil to give you an expected end.

(2) To walk in dominion you must understand that you carry divinity in you. You are made a little lower than angles (Psalm 8:5). You should take charge because you have a part of God in you. As a child of God, understand that you carry the DNA of God in you. When you receive Christ, He gives you the power to become a child of God. “…Ye are gods …” (John 10:34-35, Psalm 82:6). This reality cannot be broken.

Romans 8:29 says, “…he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son …” The greatest challenge believers have is conformity to the image of Jesus Christ in everything! Look at yourself in the mirror daily and ask yourself, “how much am I conforming to the image of Jesus: in my lifestyle; in the way I talk; in my passion; in my desire, etc.” The mind of God is that you should be a partaker and carrier of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). Yet another great challenge is how to fight to escape the corruption of the world. The word, “escape” suggests that the world want to grab you. And the world will not leave you at your own will. You must put up a fight to escape corruption in: business, lifestyle, fashion, music, etc. Because when the world grabs you, you will lose, “the divine nature”, and become an ordinary man, like that case of Samson.

(3) To walk in dominion you must understand that you are crowned with glory and honor (v5). God has crowned you. You carry glory, you carry honor, that’s why dangerous animals always get scared of humans at first sight, and could possibly retreat. You carry glory, you carry honor and every demon knows it. Isaiah 60:1 says, “arise and shine for thy light is come, for the glory of the Lord is risen upon you”. When light comes upon your life, glory comes also; and when glory comes every other thing submits. One of the greatest shortcuts to dominion is to carry glory. Simply carry glory, you will live in dominion. Malachi 4:2-3 says, “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings …” This implies that fear of the name of the Lord is another condition for dominion.

(4) To walk in dominion you must understand that you have been strengthened to have dominion (Psalm 8:2). God ordains strength to Babes and Suckling. So dominion is not about the mighty; it’s not about the powerful; it’s not about being a spiritual giant, even babes and suckling can exercise dominion. You are strengthened for dominion. There is strength in your mouth to declare the word of God. He said, “I made you to have dominion in all things”; all things include: the situation you are facing now. Are you sick in your body; are demon terrorizing your life, etc; God said that He has put them under your feet; anything under your feet has been defeated.

More so, because Jesus is the head of the Church, if anything is under his feet automatically implies that such things are under your feet as part of His body (Eph. 1:22-23). You are to exercise authority over serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy as well because, again, they are fallen and are under your feet (Luke 10:18-19).

THE KEY TO DOMINION
Victory over sin is the key to dominion. If you want to truly exercise dominion you must first of all have victory over sin. Romans 6:14 says that sin should not have dominion over you. Because, if sin has dominion over you, you are reduced to a servant, and a servant is not designed to have dominion, servant is designed to serve. That’s why as you go into prayer today you must start from the root. Is there something that have held you hostage and you have been struggling with it despite being a child of God; you have lost your power; your words have lost its power and strength because sin has weakened you. Or worse still, if you are not a believer (i.e. you are not born again), the dominion we are talking about can never be possible with you. You are not a partaker of the divine nature. You need to embrace the grace that brings salvation, which has appeared unto all men.

Preacher: Pastor Isaac V. Olori
Lesson: Mark 4:35- 41

Topic:  When Jesus is in Your Boat.

Our life as vessels is like a boat. The One who is inside and in charge, determines both your direction and the surety to get to your destination, no matter what life throws at you or what you may be going through right now.

Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us pass over unto the other side.” It implies that they embarked on the voyage by the direction of the Master. If you are going to smile at the storms, you must be moving in accordance with His Word. Jesus should be the one leading you in your life journey. You don’t have to move alone, neither should you move faster than the Master. It is when you move with the Master that you can be sure of miracles and testimonies.

He told them, to cross over to the other side with Him. Despite what you’re seeing today, one thing you should know is that you’re on a journey to the other side. Programs could be halted, but your movement to the other side shall not be hindered, not even by COVID19. With Jesus, no hurdle can be able to stop your movement to the other side. To cross over to the other side means to scale through obstacles. You shall cross over every life obstacle.

In crossing to the other side, one thing you must not carry along with is the multitudes. Multitudes here stand for the crowd, public opinions, and the views or ways of humans. You can’t embark on life’s journey with the multitudes because they will demoralize your heart and faith! Keep away from public opinions. Listen and attend to only what the Word of God says. Right now, who is influencing your boat? Is it Jesus or the multitudes?

The storm will come! The fact we have Jesus in our boat will not immune us from storms of life. But, what His presence does is to guarantee us safety. No matter how vehement the storm of life may be, it will not sink our boat when Jesus is present therein.

HOW TO APPROACH THE STORMS OF LIFE:
[1] Recognize Jesus in the boat. The realization that Jesus is in your boat will make you stay afloat because Jesus cannot sink. Having rugged faith over life situations will make you victorious.

[2] Call upon the Master. The Disciples said, “carest thou not that we perished?” That was more like a question rather than a prayer. The Master, however, arose into action and rebuked that wind. Whatever crisis you may be facing, Jesus will arise in your situations today, and the storms will hear the voice of Jesus and shall be calmed in response. The wind ceased from being “a Great Storm to a Great Calm” as Jesus swung into action. Ensure that you have Jesus in your boat today, and He will turn your situations around.

Let’s consider another storm case in Mark 6:45-51. After Jesus finished feeding the five thousand, He dismissed the multitude but instructed the disciples to go over to the other side. Although Jesus was not physically present in the boat with them, He rather went in advance to meet them (at) in the middle of the sea when they were already overwhelmed with a dangerous storm. Jesus timely went to them, walking on the sea! That is how Jesus will come to you. He will surmount all obstacles before you.

The same thing (stormy water) they were afraid of, Jesus was found walking on the water. Jesus is everywhere at all times. Immediately He stepped into their boat, the wind ceased. As Jesus conquered the sea, so shall He calm our life challenges, as long as we have Him in our boats.

Mark 4:41 shows another kind of fear expressed by the disciples. This time around was the fear of reverence, which is the right kind of fear. The situation in your life is meant to reveal God in you. I pray that as you encounter Jesus in your life, diseases, sicknesses, coronavirus shall bow. Today, those situations in your life will obey you.

I don’t know where you are, and who you are! You don’t have to assume that Jesus is present, you need to be very sure that He is. Don’t continue in your life journey without Him. And if Jesus is in your boat, which part is He? Did you put Him at the hinder part of your boat, as such, has not allowed Him full control of your life? That is regrettably, relegating Jesus to the background. Receive Jesus today as your Lord and personal Saviour, and allow Him to be in total control of your life.

April 2020 Summarized Healing Service Message

Preacher: Pastor Isaac V. Olori
Lesson: Rom. 8:11

Topic: The Power at Work in Us.

In the last Healing Service message, we considered 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Today, we shall build on that by considering, “The Power that is at work in us”; in “us” here implies the Believers.
Understanding the power that is at work in us as Believers is very critical, particularly in times like this where people are living in fears, a period of uncertainties. In Luke 9:55, Jesus rebuked His disciples because they didn’t understand the manner of the spirit that they possessed. When we don’t understand the spirit that works in us, we would end up living in errors, in beggarly and fearful life, and in a life that is below the potentials of God for our lives.
For us to prevail in this period, we must understand the power that is at work in us. The Power that is at Work in Us is a quickening power; it is the power that raised Jesus from death. Every Unbeliever is like a working corpse, because they are dead in sin. As for the Believers, Jesus has raised us up together with him; and we are seated with him in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6-7). In heavenly places, there is neither virus nor any problem there. Understanding this position would help us to appreciate the power that is at Work in Us.

WHAT DOES ‘TO QUICKEN’ MEANS?
To quicken means to make alive; to give life or vitality; to make something to become lively; to give capacity to live and develop; to have physical and mental vigours; to be strong and be active;
-it means to have enduring power, i.e. you won’t easily fade away;
-it has a reviving effect, i.e. if something is about to die that power can re-invigorate it;
-it has a cheering effect, which supplies new comfort and grace; and it also preserves.

Colossians 3:3 says, “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God”. The dead here refers to what happened in Ephesians 2. My life is not exposed. I am hid in Christ, in God. It is impossible to harm me because, in order for the evil one to do so, such must have been able to penetrate God, and thereafter Jesus, before I can be reached.

The riches of His Glory as revealed in Ephesians 1:18-20, is higher in value than money. The power that is at work in Believers is immeasurable, unlimited and is one that surpasses diseases, afflictions, demons and dominions. God is in control of your life; this is a fact that should be settled on your mind. It was that same power that destroyed all the conspiracies of hell and raised Jesus from death. The Power shows up when there are challenges, and it is time to show it up!

“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you” Romans 8:11. The first quickening of the Power that Works in Us is from deadliness to sins. When you receive this Power, you become dead to sin and alive in Christ.

3 IMPORTANT LESSONS FROM ROMANS 8:11
Lesson 1: The Power will give a Believer glorified body at rapture. It was this type of body that Jesus received He rose from death; it was with that glorious body that He ascended into heaven.

Lesson 2: The Power will bring refreshing and renewing of strength to our physical bodies. This period of pandemic should serve as “a spiritual Sabbath” to us. God requires of us to be isolated onto Him in fasting, prayer and the study of His word. Your thinking should be more about God, and not just food.

Lesson 3: The Power brings physical healing. Your mortal body is quickened and made alive. The power has all that it takes to destroy every sickness, and is able to give you whatever miracles that you need.

The Word of God is the agency of the spirit that quickens us. It is the agency that connects the Spirit to you. When you have the word, which is Jesus, which is life, it means that death, sickness and all agencies of death must give-way. Galatians 6:8 indicates that when you are loaded in the spirit, there will be no room for the enemy; and demons will flee from you.

Note that the word ‘if’ in Romans 8:11 is an indicator of conditionality. It is not by assumption that the spirit is dwelling in you. You must start by being washed in the blood of Jesus, as you surrender your life to Jesus and thereafter have the Spirit dwell in you. If you are backslidden, you can still come back to Jesus today, and He will receive and restore you. Pray and ask Jesus to have mercy upon, and forgive you all your sins right now.

Topic: Dealing with the Spirit of Fear and Anxiety

2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” At the moment, coronavirus has overwhelmed the world, turning almost everything onto a standstill! Countries are locked-down, economies are crumbling; borders are closed and travel restrictions imposed; oil prices are down to unimaginable low within a very short time; worriedly, there is no solution from anywhere. There is even a greater danger than that of coronavirus; it is the spiritual virus of fear and anxiety. Today, whatsoever the enemy has brought in your life that causes fear shall be subdued by the power of God.

There are two categories of virus: the physical and spiritual viruses. They serve as plagues! A plague is something that can blow and heats the economy of nations; a plague can also be considered as affliction or evil. The meaning of plague from the original Hebrew word is an indicator of something that touches the heart. When the heart is attacked, a deep wound is created, and such can kill the soul.

Fear comes from the enemy. The purpose is to make you give-in and yield to the slightest challenges imposed by the devil. Every challenging situation offers opportunities for the preaching of the gospel. God often uses certain situations to bring men on their knees. Each time plagues come, it makes it possible for God to prove Himself as being God. That is the more reason why we should not fear. The word, ‘Fear’ occurs about 366 times in the bible, which provides for you with a dose of “Fear Not” per day (and for a leap year, especially).

From Isaiah 41:10, 13 & 14, the bible talks about, ‘Do Not Be Dismayed’. To be dismayed means to be disabled with great alarm, like the case of coronavirus alarm! ‘Do Not Be Dismayed’ also means, “do not depress your courage” because what follows after discouragement is fears. God’s promise is, “do not be dismayed, I will uphold you by my hand, fear not, you worm of Jacob”. It shows the great abilities of God to deliver beyond the weaknesses of men.

THREE THINGS THAT GOD HAS GIVEN US TO COMBAT FEAR

1) THE SPIRIT POWER: God has a provision of power for every child of His. Apart the power to witness, such power can be used to surmount all challenges; it can confront the enemy and withstand any adverse situations; it is a power that comes by the Holy Spirit. Micah talks about such power. Nehemiah knew of God’s Power, and was connected to it. That was why he declared, “how can I run from the enemy?” In midst of the plagues, His grace shall be sufficient onto us. Note that any time you live in fear, you are committing sin. Living in fear is like saying, ‘God, I do not trust your word; I’m not sure of how to face tomorrow”!

2) THE SPIRIT OF LOVE: This is yet another dimension. Perfect love casts away fear. If you really trust God, you will not fear. Our future is not determined by humans or coronavirus. If you are more conscious of God’s love for you, you won’t fear, just like a little child could trust the mother. Another aspect of the show His love, is in preaching the Gospel to the unbelievers. Share God’s love on social media, rather than reposting things that you don’t know their origins.

3) THE SPIRIT OF SOUND MIND: This means, to be well balanced and under a right influence. You are neither influenced by what you see nor what they say, but by the word of God. The Spirit of sound mind is what will help to trust God and believe on the word of God. Children of God have got the Spirit of their Master, which is the fearless spirit of a loin.

HOW TO DEAL WITH FEAR AND ANXIETY?

1) IS TO DWELL IN GOD’S SECRET PLACE. Elijah had no fears because he dwelt and operated from the secret place of God, which was unlike his truant servant. Dwelling in God’s secret place is an indicator that you are actively godly. You find coverage and protection in the secret place. And God will always stands by you and for you.

2) IS TO STAND ON GOD’S WORDS AND PROMISES. When you stand on God’s word, the devil cannot defeat your defense for an attack. Psalm 91:4 say, “He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” For instance, when the hen covers the chicken under her wings, no hawk can have access to pick them up. His word must be your shield and buckler, in order to to chide off every lies and infirmities of satan. “A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.” (Psalm 91:7). It means that you won’t be affected because the angles are there to guide and defend you both physically and spiritually.

You should know that there is limit to how the devil or any adverse situation can affect you, if you can stand firm on God’s words. “And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.” Exodus 15:26

If an ordinary Doctor can care and attend to you, and won’t put sickness on your body because he is your doctor, God shall look after you, and both cure and care for you even much more. Only, “be anxious for nothing, but by prayer and supplication like you request be made known onto you.” (Philippians 4:6)

3) IS TO DEPART FROM EVIL (SIN). Every fear stems from breaking of the law of God. Like Adam, as soon as he broke God’s law, he was afraid and began to hide. You must depart from sin because sin attracts the judgment of God on humanity. “Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.” (Psalm 106:29). In Exodus God said, “I will plague your whole country…” Surely the wickedness of men could have provoked God, hence the reason for the plague upon small and big nations. Isolation is meant to humble people, and bring them to their kneels before the almighty God, because men have forsaken God and now live their own ways.

God can stop any pandemic within seconds. For instance, “… in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.” (Luke 7:21). Jesus is still in the business of delivering and healing men from plagues and infirmities.

I recommend Jesus to everyone that is already affected by the plaguing virus and any other infirmities. The effect of sin is even worse than coronavirus! The blood of Jesus is a handy vaccine for the cure of sin-virus. Come to Jesus today, and your sin-virus would be gotten rid-off. It doesn’t matter how far you have gone, God’s power is still effectual to deliver and save through the name Jesus

Lesson: Jeremiah 1:4-12

Topic: Taking Charge

In verse 10, the Lord said to Jeremiah, “See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant”. It’s not only Jeremiah that has a special mission or purpose that God want him to accomplish on earth, but every one of us is created for a purpose as well. There are persons and things that God wants you to take charge of. If you are in this world as a Christian, you are here to take charge. To “occupy” in Luke 10:13 means to “take charge” until I come. And if you don’t take charge, other people, powers and things will inadvertently take charge over you.

As for Jeremiah, God told him to uproot, pull down, destroy, throw down or demolish and then build. The instruction to uproot implies that there were improper things already in place that do not fit into God’s purpose, of which must be gotten rid of before new things could be properly put in place. God’s children ought to uproot and demolish every demonic setup before they can build in line with God’s plan and purpose.

You can’t take your rightful position when you are yet to be properly connected to God. Many people are living in bondage and should have need of someone to take charge for them. It is important that we should look inward into our lives first. You can only plant/sow after you might have taken care of stumping and tilling of fallow ground; if not, thorns and weeds will definitely hinder any planted seeds from germination and growth. Hence, consideration must be given to the state of the ground before venturing into sowing. You can’t talk about fruitfulness when you sow among thorns! All negative habits in your life must of necessity need to be dealt with.

Like we know, weeds always compete with the wheat (real plants); they grow faster and draw all the nutrients and the productivity of the wheat is affected. As it is with the natural weeds and plants, so it is in the spiritual. There are things in our lives that must be dealt with or uprooted, otherwise cohabiting with them would waste your efforts and render your yield unproductive.

THE ACTION THAT GOD EXPECTS US TO TAKE CHARGE OF:
There are things that must be taken care of or pulled down first before you can put on Christ, otherwise they will hamper your growth and effectiveness. They are things such as:
[1] Spiritual Apathy: We must take care of spiritual apathy because this breeds thorns and weeds. This happens when men are asleep. Weeds grow by themselves because there is no vacuum in nature; land left bare must grow weeds.

[2] Strip yourself of the Old Nature: If you have really leaned on Christ, then you must take off the old nature by yourself deliberately because it will not go by itself. You can’t put on Christ when you still have the Old Nature housed in you. This will lead to confusion and will make you present a wrong image of Christ before God and people. Col 3:5-10 says that you must put off all the evil deeds; put off activities of the flesh which are in your members (body); these must be destroyed before you can put on Christ. These must die because they give allowance to the manifestations of the works of flesh, such as: malice, anger, filthiness, etc. These must be destroyed before spiritual things can grow in you.

[3] Deal Ruthlessly with evil weeds, such is Jesus’ expectation: In Matt 18:9, we know that the eye is a critical important party of the body; as such, we protect and handle it with utmost care, yet in a matter of the Kingdom it could be done away with. To make heaven you must “Take Charge” and deal with anything that could lead to compromises. Be ruthless in dealing with such things. It’s better to go with one eye into heaven than to go with two eyes into hell.
The bible noted in Jeremiah 1:5 that God formed Jeremiah. Your Spiritual formation is important to God, if you must be able to take charge. You must willingly yield to Christ to be formed in you. Discipline yourself by going through a period of discipleship. God formed and separated Jeremiah before he set him over nations, people and kingdom before he was able to ascertain the things that must stay and those that must be rooted out, which are not in conformability with God’s purpose.

AUTHORITY TO ROOT OUT
Many have not yet realized that God is looking up to them to take action. We are meant to take authority and determine the state of affairs in our nations. In Matthew 15:13, Jesus instructs that, “Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up”. He was not necessarily referring to physical plant, but structures, peoples, teachings and things that are contrary to God’s principles and doctrines. The first thing to note here is that there are so many things that are planted in your life and in your family that are not of God, and these must be rooted out. Likewise the manipulations of the enemy from the pit of hell shall all be rooted out. You are a child of God; you have been empowered to root out all that are not of God. You have to be urgent and literally mad like Jeremiah in not allowing any negative plant to grow and bear negative fruits in our families and Churches.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 is our mandate, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”. You must bring those things that want to hold you captive into captivity, that is what it means to take charge. The business of pulling down and taking charge does not require a gentle approach. To be able to root out what the enemy has planted requires some form of warfare. Because the enemy will not sit down and watch you, hence you must be ready to contend with him spiritually in Prayers.

In order to pull down, it also requires the word of God. Hebrews 4:12, shows that the word of God is quick and powerful and it can handle the physical as well as the spiritual things. The strong holds are pulled down by the power of God, so you need not to be afraid. Gideon was looking at himself as a dejected person, but God assured him that there was something greater in him. By that, he went and pulled down every altar that was contrary to God in his family. You must be spiritually angry and get up, to take charge.

For so many, there are many competitions in your lives, but today, those things that are competing with your spiritual growth must be rooted out. Some may be afraid like Gideon initially was. But, fear shouldn’t stop you; determine now to move on to actions, whether in the day or at night what is important would be you have taken action to move in God’s direction and purpose. God can put His words in the mouth of your enemies just to favour you (Judges 6: 25-27). For the God that we serve, we don’t fight for Him, He rather fights for us.

When you carry the word of God in you, your case shall be different. You need to have and carry Jesus in your life today.

Lesson: John 2;1-11

Topic: Manifesting His Glory

Our theme for the year is: Fruitfulness. If we must be fruitful, one thing we must desire of God from today is for Him to manifest His glory in us and through us. To manifest means to unveil or to reveal, which implies God revealing His greatness. It is the mind of God for us to experience His Greatness, His Power and His Glory. The book of Exodus chapter 33 shows how Moses desired to see God’s glory. When once you encounter God’s glory, your destiny and everything about you will change.

SOURCE OF GLORY:
In John 1:1, Jesus was introduced as the WORD, which was in the beginning with God. Verse 14 says, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth”. This glory that was beheld and encountered was a peculiar and unique glory. The bible noted that it was, “full of grace and truth”. It is the person of the WORD that brings about glory. When you encounter the WORD and His glory, you will experience changes in your life by this unique grace encounter.

AGENTS OF GLORY:
The instruments that make things to happen or that bring about glory are both physical and spiritual. Notice from our text that the wine got finished at the marriage feast at Cana of Galilee. This occasion of need brought about the opportunity for the manifestation of His glory. Likewise in John 11, the bible tells us of the account of Lazarus. His sickness and eventual death became opportunity for the manifestation of God’s glory. It thus implies that, problems are the basic agents necessitate connection to glory, hence testimonies.
The second agent of glory is the human agent. From our text, the Mother of Jesus was present at the marriage. She was very intimate with Jesus and prudent to have noticed that the wine had finished, and persuaded that there was someone there who could do what no man can do. She came to Jesus in confident and faith, and related the problem of no wine to him; this was a faith filled prayer. Mary capitalized on mother-son relationship.

With the problem of no wine being petitioned to Jesus, there were two things that were needed for the miracle to be performed. These are: empty vessels and the fillings. An empty vessel is critical for God to manifest his glory. Any time God wants to manifest his glory he looks out for vessels, which must be empty. In 2Kings 4, the widow of one of the sons of the prophet was faced with the problem of threat of taken her two children for the debt of the late husband. For the solution to the debt problem, she was demanded to borrow many vessels (not a few) because the miracle could be limited by the number of vessels available. May you not limit God in your life by no vessel or by the provision of just a few vessels. The demand to fill the many empty vessels with mere “water”, shows that God can use ordinary things to do extraordinary miracles.
Water symbolizes the word of God. It is also a symbol of the Holy Spirit. If we are a carrier of Jesus, implies we should be carriers of the word, because Jesus is the Word, which existed from the beginning with God, and is God.

Recall that the pots were filled to the brim. This means that they were filled to over following. The servants were diligent and committed to obeying the Master’s instruction. Firstly, they were told to, “bring the pots”; secondly they were told to, “fill the pots with water”, and thirdly, they were told to, “draw from the pots”. Finding, hearing and obeying the God’s word as tools for miracles are all critical. The miracle is not only in the filling but also in the drawing; the ability to draw is even more important. The one you draw is the Rhema: the revealed word. Carrying the word is not enough but the ability to draw from it is what brings the miraculous results. In Matthew 4, as Satan tempted Jesus, in each occasion he said, “it is written”, this implies drawing from the word. For you to be able to confront the devil today, you must have the capacity to draw from the Word, because when you draw from the Word, power is released.

INGREDIENTS THAT LEAD TO THE MANIFESTATION OF THE GLORY OF GOD:
No1 ingredient to the manifestation of Glory is Faith –
What gave Mary the confidence to approach Jesus was a kind of Faith, which came by the knowledge of the word of God. She knew the child was a unique from conception to birth, and by keeping that to heart made her faith in Him to be steadily built up. It was because she had such impeccable faith in Jesus that she told the servant, “whatsoever he ask you do, do it”. What you do after prayers also determine your level of faith.

No2 ingredient to the manifestation of Glory is obedience –
Obedience is what shows that faith has been properly put at work. That means exercising faith without a corresponding work (or faith action) renders faith impotent. The bible says that faith without work is death. Any disobedience or a divine action not anchored in God’s word is anti-faith.
For ordinary water to be turned into wine is not a natural but a supernatural phenomenon. Jesus has the power to change nature and natural events; he can turn tasteless things to become tasteful; he can cause things that have no values to have values. Wine is also a symbol of joy. May God restore your joy and happiness today as the case of the marriage feast at Cana of Galilee.

THINGS REQUIRED FOR YOUR SURE TESTIMONY NOW:
1. You need a new and empty vessel for the new wine to be filled therein (Luke 5v37 -38)
2. One thing the scripture was careful to record was that Jesus and his disciples were invited (John 2v2). You must invite Jesus into your life as your Lord and personal saviour. Invite him to take charge of your life even now.
