In the parable of the Ten Virgins, Jesus Christ used the Jewish marriage custom to illustrate a truth about the kingdom of heaven. The arrival of the bridegroom always had an element of surprise and so the bride waits, surrounded by her bridesmaid (virgins) for the arrival of the bridegroom. In this case, the bridegroom delayed until midnight by which time all the bridesmaids had fallen asleep. This book is a study of this parable in which Apostle Numbere explains that the coming of our Lord Jesus is at hand, the Church has already entered the “pre-seat” (lobby, waiting room). Christians should therefore be on the alert and ready with our lamps trimmed and bright and LOOK UP for sooner than we think, we shall hear the shout, “The Bridegroom (Jesus Christ) Cometh!” He will be here to take home, only the “wise virgins” that is, Christians who are ready and expecting Him.
